It was your typical fill-in-the-blank statement, ""I wholeheartedly condemn the violation of Georgia's sovereignty. I think it is important at this point for all sides to show restraint and to stop this arms conflict."

You fill in the blank where "Georgia's" is.  I'm sure Obama needed to be briefed by his 300 foreign policy staffers before he could do much more.  He probably doesn't even know what's been going on between Georgia and Russia for the last decade.  He voted 'present' if the issue was ever brought up.

(Or probably more like his supporters here are posting -- allies in trouble?  Are we involved?  Mind our business.)

That is an internal problem in russia. Look at home first.You cannot solve your own problems yet.

Obama has no power to stop anything yet, he has not been elected president the last time I checked. Not that Bush can do any better, but Obama talks as though he were already in the presidential office. I only hope that carnage gets settled before we get involved in yet another war torn area. This one being with a country that has full nuclear power as we do.
