What is Oil & gas industry all about? it is just about oil & gas itself of it's related to other fields?

Russia's planing to control the gas market through Gaztrom (a behemoth) which will of course get political since it's Putin's corporate puppet.

Oil companies are known for their intensive lobbying to buy US and other nations' political figures like McCain (and even Obama if the money's strong enough.)

In short oil and gas companies are filthy rich (because of the huge global demands for energy/fuel) and use their money to do some politicking to earn even more money. So in the end democracy and communism unites when money slaps them in the face (with democratic politicians doing it in a more elusive manner to lead astray the disillusioned lambs.)
