I was looking at T-Mobile.com

and I was checking out, then it said

One time activation fee† = $35.00

† The activation fee is a one-time charge of $35.00 per line that will appear on the first monthly billing statement. Not applicable for T-Mobile Prepaid customers.

CAN SOMEBODY PLEASE EXPLAIN?

  1. It's a fee they charge for activating (turning on) the phone / phone line and setting up the account.  Most carriers charge an activation fee and it really is a one time deal.  You'll notice though, that it doesn't apply to pre-paid customers, only regular monthly accounts.

  2. It is just what it says.  You pay $35 one time on your first bill for each line on the plan.  So the first month you will pay your normal bill plus the activation fee.  Sometimes you can get it waived though.  You would just have to look for those deals.

  3. It's just a fee that phone companies charge when you first activate your new phone line.

  4. When you purchase a new line subscription, the first time you buy it, there is a fee of $35. It's just a fee for activating the line - you won't have to pay that monthly, or ever again, unless you add another line, in which you will pay another activation fee...
