I was watching "Family Guy", and a character metioned this.

I've checked and found out it was real. The only thing is, when I try to read an article about it, I get lost in it's advanced scientific lingo...

  1. Let me explain first with cultural imperialism. [from what I read, I'm not an expert philosopher!] Cultural imperialism is when Western society influences its counterpart society through the media. For example, a third world country's media broadcast a western show and it immediately prompts them to add what they perceive as the superior culture into their own lifestyle. What ontology does, is it questions its basic existence and explains it. For example, "why do I exist? I exist because ...." so ontological imperialism would be, "Why do I copy Western culture? I copy it because there is no other society to which I can compare mine to and I submit it to it because from what i see, it is better." And if you know what the basic meaning of to imperialism means (which is to expand an empire) then you can understand that in this way, western culture dominates others. This statement is what ontological imperialism explains.

  2. i'm pretty sure it's a deliberate mispronunciation.
