  1. Organizational socialization is the process whereby an organization teaches an individual the knowledge and skills necessary to assume his or her organizational role (Van Maanen & Schein, 1979). It involves teaching newcomers the values, behaviors, social knowledge, and necessary work place skills needed to successfully assume an organizational role and participate as an organizational member (Louis, 1980; Schein, 1968).

Military boot camp is an example of organizational socialization. The military is taking a civilian and teaching him or her how to become a soldier. Wal-Mart associates are always supposed to treat the customer with respect, that's a behavior newcomers must learn. At a union plant, you only make X number of widgits per hour, even if you can really make 3 times that many, because X number of widgits an hour is a comfortable pace to work and management accepts that amount.

    3)Organizational Studies

    Hope that this helps

  3. Dave's answer is very good

    Organizational socialization

Organizational means a body of people in a business, society or association that sets out goals, aims, rules and regulations for their staff, volunteers etc, add to this the social aspect, which means that we must behave or act in a manner that is deemed acceptable in the work place and defines our role and how we carry out our roles within the and work place.

    Example is
