I am thinking of buying one just to mess with it. I told my mom and she said I could go with her this weekend to pick one up...What exactly do they do? I have a general idea. If I am just messing around, will anything bad happen?

  1. its like this board with letters and numbers on it and stuff and your sposed to ask a question and it will supposedly move around. its never worked for me, but idk maybe i wasnt doing it right?

  2. do not do a ouiji board unless u want to be haunted for the rest of ur life if u dont do it properly!

  3. My Ouija board never did anything. I didn't get any spirits and I didn't get an ideomotor effect. I kind of liked the style of artwork and lettering on the Ouija board, but it never did anything. I ended up giving it away. I think somebody spilled paint on it and it ended up in the trash.

I think you have to go deep into the remote forests of the old country and find one that was made by elves on Halloween night during a full moon. Beware of cheap imitations.

  4. I think you mean an ouija board - also known as a 'yes yes board', because 'Oui' is 'yes' in french, and 'Ja' is 'yes' in German.

  5. please do not take the ouija board into the house! My friend bought one and used it in her home and she's brink of insanity. A couple weeks after she used the ouija board , she told me she wanted to commit suicide. now she's in a mental rehabitation center. please do not use it.

the link below are some facts:

  6. It's like a magnetic board full of letters and if you ask it a question, something writes the answer on the board and they sometimes come true. I advice you not to mess with it, as it might haunt you and make you insane if you ask it the wrong question. A guy once asked when he was going to die, and it answered in seven days and he became so mad, he died of a heart attack or something like that...

  7. It's a fun thing,it is supposed to answer questions but it seems that the persons on the triangle know the answers and subconsciously  push the device around and it seems quite real

  8. According to legend, they are supposed to "summon spirits". But really how it works is that everybody has a finger or two on the planchette (a movable pointer) and everybody contributes to its movement, pointing to letters and symbols to spell out a message.

Have fun!  Invite some superstitious friends to do it with you. Also, turn off the room lights and do it at night. It's a recipe for fun. Enjoy!

  9. The board does not like to be mess with. It just wants some respect for god's sake.

  10. Probably not.

I've played with them.  They are fun to play around with, although some people do take them serious.  My mom won't let me bring mine into the house when I'm not using it.  It has to stay in the garage.

Some people do see them as doorways from the spirit world into our world, and so using one can allow for evil spirits to enter.

And then there are the skeptics, who think that Milton-Bradley made a killing off of stupid people who think a piece of cardboard can contact the dead.

But like I said.  They are fun to play with when you're hanging out with a group of friends at night.

  11. It's a board game you use to communicate with "spirits" which takes advantage of something called the ideomotor effect.

Some superstitious people will tell you not to because it can [cue eerie music] "open a portal to the other side".  Personally I think this is a bunch of nonsense, but then I choose to live a reality-based existence.

  12. A OUIJA BOARD I A GATEWAY TO THE OTHER SIDE SOME SAY IT IS BAD LUCK AND YOU CAN LET IN DEMONIC SPIRITS WITH IT WHAT  EVER YOU DONT EVER BURN A OUIJA BOARD IF YOU INVITE SOME THING IN THAT YOU DONT WANT
