  1. PEG is chemistry shorthand for poly ethylene glycol. The number following refers to the molar mass of the polymer. Usually these numbers are quite large, 2000 or 8000 etc which is the average molar mass of the product. Different companies may adopt a different numbering system. But PEG is as above.


  2. MPEG-4 is a graphics and video compression algorithm standard that is based on MPEG-1, MPEG-2 and Apple QuickTime technology.
