I have this older radio with FM, AM, TV Sound, and PS/Air. I have no idea what the PS/Air is but I did get a news channel on it and some kind of sports game. I'm just wondering what PS/Air means and what kind of material it picks up.

Thanks

  1. At the time the radio was designed, "PS/Air" stood for Public Service/Air Traffic.  Since they were both VHF, they could receive them.

At one time you could receive Police, Fire, Government on PS, while Air was able to receive Control Towers, Approach Controls, etc.

  2. Air traffic.. on older radios you could listen to traffic control.

you wont here it now.. The frequency is different
