What is Palanga, Lithuania like? Is there much to do? Whjat is the nighlife like?

I want to go somewhere different for a beach holiday and wondered what Palanga in Lithuania was like? Is there much nightlife?

Palanga is the largest Lithuanian resort.  Nice beaches and dunes, beautiful sunsets.  Just make sure you go there between June-August, otherwise it's going to be too cold to suntan and swim.  There is a pretty park and a neat amber museum:

I haven't been there for about five years or so (I live in the States now) but I am pretty sure you will find some nice restaurants and bars to hang out.  Like I said - it is the largest resort in the country.

It also gets pretty crowded in summer.  If you want something smaller and more relaxed, go to Nida or Juodkrante (not much night life there, though) they are both on the Curonian spit:
