What is Paris like?

Are the people actually mean, or is that just a generalization? What is the scenery like? Is the language pretty? If you have pics, feel free to email them to me.

Paris is cool, but anybody can go there so i would not interact with everybody if i were you. But the people aren't mean, the language is pretty, and the food is soooo delicious!

Parisians really are somewhat meaner than other French people, in the same way that New Yorkers are somewhat meaner than other Americans. It's just the attitude that you find in any big city. Don't take it personally.

In any case, you'll receive better treatment from them if you learn a little of the language and make an attempt to speak it. Be willing to do things the way the locals do it, and don't insist on having things done the way that you are used to back home. Also don't be loud and obnoxious--the French hate that about English-speaking tourists.

The French language is quite beautiful. It's also very complex. It takes some time to "get an ear for it." If you're not used to hearing it, the first several days it will just sound like gibberish. The basic terms of politeness and questions are easy to learn. Any phrase book will teach you the basics.

Paris is a pretty city--especially in the springtime. The architecture is varied. There's not much left of medieval architecture in the city--most of that burned down or was pulled down long ago. What's there today is an interesting mix of 19th century, Art Nouveau, and ultra-modern. The suburbs are pretty hideous, though, with their '60s and '70s apartment towers everywhere.

Well it is a generalization, but i am french, and i can tell you that some people can be pretty rude sometimes, more than in other countries! For the language, you should juge for yourself! a lot of people like it, i don't like how we pronounce the "r" but i guess im just used to the language! Paris is a great city, there is so much to do, it is SO beautiful, especially in the summer (when the sun is out!)! If you have the occasion to go there, it's an amazing place!! ツ

The French are fine.. unless you are from England.. then they hate you.

In our experience, the English generally are far ruder than the French.

Paris is a monument to sophisticated civilisation, a hub of culture, and the home of style. Paris is not just a place, it's a feeling.

people are very nice, its very clean, food is great, it rains a bit tho, but thats normal for a european city.

Paris is amazing....the people are great.....the food is fabulous, the city of lights was everything I dreamed it to be.  There is nothing like seeing the Eiffel Tower for the first time at night all lit up.

Paris is a beautiful city and one of the best on the globe. It is full of greenery , monuments with nice weather...Language is sweet...I feel people are very introvert and have lots of ego specially with people from asia or africa
