The Parvis is the square in front of Notre Dame Cathedral.  It gets it name from the Parvis which is a bronze marker in the center of the square.  It is the starting point for all distance measurement in all of France.

You probably mean PARVIS and not "parvin." The parvis is the open square in front of the church (be it Notre Dame de Paris or another).
