What is Political Identity?

I have a class assignment asking me what is the exact definition of political identity, and i do not know how to write it in exact words, can someone help me out?!?

well this is just a guess but i'd say it's how one views their place in politics. like how politicians try to court different groups during an election cycle. so if you were an evangelical christian or black you would feel more important than if you were atheist or Asian. like i said this is just a guess.
