  1. Pollyanna was a character in a Mark Twain novel who was basically a "goody-two-shoes" who always did the right thing, was always neat and dressed perfectly and never questioned anything. Pollyanna optimism refers to a blind and unrealistic thinking that basically puts blinders over the eyes of reality.
