  1. windsor, but they sometimes use wales as a last name.

  2. Earnhardt

  3. Windsor!

    As in WINDSOR Castle!

  4. Prince Harry's official name is Prince Henry Charles Albert David. His last name is David.

Prince William's official name is Prince William Arthur Philip Louis. His last name is Louis.

But as the children to The Prince of Wales, they are known as Harry Wales and William Wales respectively.

  5. As titled Royals they don't have a surname, however, when one is required they use Wales (from their Father's title). Upon Charles's ascension to the throne, William's "surname" will change to "Cornwall" (the heir to the throne is automatically Duke of Cornwall but has to be formally appointed and invested as Prince of Wales).

If they're married they may "change" their surnames as it is traditional for Royals to be award a dukedom on their marriage and they will take the place of Wales (e.g Princes Andrew and Edward use York and Wessex as their surnames respectively).

  6. I thought they were Stuarts or Stewarts. Both have held the royal seat.

  7. William Arthur Philip Louis

    Henry Charles Albert David

Because they are princes in the UK, they don't need surnames, if they did they would use : Mountbatten-Windsor

However they both use Wales as a surname (eg William when he enroled in University or the military).

  8. The official surname that the descendants of Elizabeth II is "Mountbatten-Windsor." The Queen's real surname was "Wettin", a branch of the Saxe-Coburg and Gotha line of the House of Wettin. However, high anti-German feeling among the people during World War I prompted the Royal Family to abandon all titles held under the German crown and to change German-sounding titles and house names for English-sounding versions. Therefore, The Queen's surname became "Windsor", and The House of Windsor is the current Royal House of the United Kingdom and each of the other Commonwealth realms.

Mountbatten is the surname of Prince Philip, which is also an English version of the German name Battenberg. Therefore, in honour of him, his children may choose to use the surname "Mountbatten-Windsor", and Prince Charles may want to establish the first "House of Mountbatten-Windsor" as the official ruling house when he is King. However, the younger generation like Prince William and Princess Beatrice prefer to use their territorial title in place of their surname. For example, Prince William was registered as William Wales in college, and Princess Beatrice was registered as Beatrice York in college.

The following people have made use of, in current practice, or have made use of, the surname Mountbatten-Windsor. They are listed in the order of succession to the Crown.

    - Prince Charles, Prince of Wales and his wife, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall

    - Prince William of Wales

    - Prince Henry of Wales

    - Prince Andrew, Duke of York

    - Princess Beatrice of York

    - Princess Eugenie of York

    - Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex and his wife, Sophie, Countess of Wessex

    - Lady Louise Windsor (simply styled with the name Windsor)

    - James Windsor, Viscount Severn (styled Viscount Severn)

    - Princess Anne, Princess Royal (until her marriage with Mark Phillips in 1973 (divorced 1992) when she assumed his surname; her surname has subsequently changed again on the occasion of her marriage with Timothy Laurence in 1992)
