  1. Proportion--

    * Dictionary: A part considered in relation to the whole.

    * Simply: Relationship between a part and its whole. (EX: Hand size in relationship to body. Note: this is different from SCALE.)

    Rhythm--

    * Dictionary: A patterned repetition of a motif, formal element, etc., at regular or irregular intervals in the same or a modified form.

    * Simply: The repetition of certain elements which set up a sense of visual movement.

    Emphasis--

    * Dictionary: Special forcefulness of expression that gives importance to something singled out; stress

    * Simply: To stress or bring stress to a part of an art work. (EX: Outlining a part of a drawing with a thicker line than others. Note: it is usually the focal point)
