What is Punta del Este like during the winter season?

I would like to invest in property and perhaps open a bar there. I know that the summer rocks but what about the winter? Do the locals still hang out during the winter in Punta?

yes, but only in weekend and obviously it's not as crowded as in summer

There are still people hanging on Punta during the winter. It's a summer resort but hotels (especially the Conrad) have lots of events during winter time to promote the city. There are fashion runways, etc. I think a bar is a great investment there, and if things go slow during winter time I am sure you'll see a lot of cash flowing at summertime! Of course there are more tourists in summer but argentinians and uruguayans tend to do at spring or even fall if they own property there. It is definelty not a ghost town during winter!
