  1. Amanda, reflect on what contains the essence of quality. We strive for perfection in our work, our relationships, also thoughts, health and comfort. Quality remains the elusive summation of each persons search in their lifetime and must be like the golden chalice ever beyond our reach.

  2. A meta-concept upon which other concepts are based. Sort of like the "box" other concepts go into. It sounds a bit Kantian, but I believe Robert Pirsig (in "Lila" and "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenence") goes into it in some detail.  He uses the metaphor of the box of index cards, each containing one tidbit of information.
