  1. Windsor...the House of Windsor.

  2. The British royal family changed their last name from Saxe-Coburg-Gotha to Windsor in 1917. The reason? World War One broke out in 1914 and anti-German sentiment was at its height in 1917. In protest, King George V renounced all the German titles belonging to him and his family and adopted the name of his castle, Windsor.

  3. Her last name is Windsor.

  4. Actually, very few people know this, but her real name is Ernestina Gamble.  She changed it in the 40's to be more queenie.

  5. no one really knows

officially its Windsor, from the house of Windsor

but there is no real house of Windsor, they made it up when she ascended to power

so its a fake last name

so in reality, no one know her last name, its one of Englands mysteries

  6. Windsor - she's head of the House of Windsor. It is expected to change to Mountbatten-Windsor when Charles ascends the throne as he used that on his wedding certificates.

  7. Technically, she doesn't have one.  But for those things for which a surname is really needed, it is Windsor.

  8. Windsor, like windsor castle...

    and legoland windsor.

i want to go to legoland windsor.

  9. Windsor :)

  10. It's Smith....Mrs Elizabeth Smith...or perhaps it  might be Windsor.

  11. Windsor... at least I think it is, but she's descended from Germans.

  12. She doesn't have one.  Before she became queen, it was Windsor.

  13. Before 1917, members of the British Royal Family had no surname, but only the name of the house or dynasty to which they belonged. Kings and princes were historically known by the names of the countries over which they and their families ruled. Kings and queens therefore signed themselves by their first names only, a tradition in the United Kingdom which has continued to the present day. In 1917, there was a radical change, when George V specifically adopted Windsor, not only as the name of the 'House' or dynasty, but also as the surname of his family. The family name was changed as a result of anti-German feeling during the First World War, and the name Windsor was adopted after the Castle of the same name.

  14. Elizabeth Alexandra Mary (Windsor)

As a titled queen, she holds no suraname.  But, when one is used, it is Windsor.

She married Phillip Mountbatten in 1947.

  15. Wouldnt have a Clue :D

  17. Some German name.

  18. Officially she is the ruling head of the House of Windsor..hence Windsor is last name.
