RDX has already been explained but the full form is something that relates to the fulminate, i.e. the fulminate ion, a pseudohalic ion,  (acting like a halogen ion, with its charge, and chemical activity parameters ), it is friction sensitive and similar to mercury fulminate used in detonators for gun  cartridges/rounds, i.e. it can be exploded by impact , they are dissolved in nitric acid, and are reacted with alcohol, the presence of the weak nitrogen / oxygen bond causes it to be unstable,
