Sardesais in Gujarat are from their work-styles basically desais, ie Vaishyas. However, Sardesais in Gujarat are Brahmins , nagars and even Rajputs or Lohanas.

May be since all the majority of others in NDTV were from upper caste, and since his wife is a Brahmin, it can be assumed that probably Rajdeep by birth may be a Brahmin.
