I am going holiday to rock, Wadebridge, Cornwall. I am really looking forward to it.

People have told me, that it is quite posh place in Cornwall, and posh public school boys go there. Is that true? Not that I want to get in with the guys, I would just like to know about the shops. Is there any Jack Wills stores near Rock.Because, if posh, public, surf, beachy type people go there, would there be any shops like that.

please help.

i need info asap.

thankyou

xx

  1. Rock is a very nice area. Small village so no shops like that, but there are a few decent ones either in Padstow (opposite side of the estuary to Rock via Ferry or in Wadebridge - further afield is Bodmin I guess.

Hope you enjoy it! What these 'people' tend to mean is that there is a local thing that happens at Polzeath beach (a few miles from Rock) every holiday. Posh people have holiday homes in the estate round it and often dump their late-teen kids there for the summer with some friends, often some go for exam celebrations. Added to the cheap booze shops / pubs & beach and you can kind of image that Polzeath after the lifeguards have gone is best avoided. Otherwise, its a lovely area. Rock centre gets busy but the area around will seldom. If you want a beach slightly less busy than the mad rush of Polzeath, I reccomend a place called Crackington Haven. Just do a google search / pick up the free paper in the area (well worth doing)
