Is Rome like a separate sovereignty? Does the Romans technically still exist? Im a bit confused about Rome to be honest. Ive heard alot about the city, is it just the capitol of Italy or is there more to it? Have they maintained the old customs and traditions of the Roman empire?

  1. the Etruscans moved into  what is now Italy and took over, (Rome too) then they expanded and conquered all the lands that we know at teh Roman empire, then it collapsed

  2. No, Rome is a city in Italy.  It is not separate from Italy.  Yes, there are still Romans. There is no more Ceasar and are governed by the Italian government like the rest of Italy.

  3. Rome is the capitol of Italy. The people who live in Rome are called

Romans the same as people who live in New York are called New Yorkers. It is not a separate place. However, the Vatican City which is the heart of the Catholic world and the place where the Pope lives

is a separate city state within Rome inself. Rome is a fabulously

interesting city both from modern and historic point of view. It is a

very vibrant city and known for its fashions and cuisine. It is also noted for the wonderful statutes, buildings and art that still remain from the time of the Roman Empire. In some places in Rome they still get their

water via the aqueducts that the Romans built thousands of years ago.
