From what I understand, That region is rich in resources, while a good portion of Russia has poor soil and few natural resources. As in many other wars and occupations it is all about greed and land. Russia made a huge mistake, and I seriously wonder what possessed them to do it. they had to have known that big brother USA would step in and slap their hand. I am concerned though that idiot bush has made relations bad with Russia. Can we say cold war all over again?

They are using the same bullyboy tactics Israel used in Lebanon and the US in Iraq. International borders did not matter back then.
