To make sure I would use a disinfect lysol wipes when using public toilets but its rare to get stds off toilets. Even bath towels as well if you gonna ask that too. Its an std not a germ transmission to let you know that.

an std is a sexually transmitted disease..so no you cant get it off a public toilet because you have to have s*x. hence called SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED disease

the STD indicates sexually transmitted diseases. but you may have chances in getting those from toilets which are not frequently disinfected. in case if only posses any lesions or any wounds which contact the causative organism present on the toilet.

Sure you can get one from sitting on a public toilet , but only if you are a contortionist with the ability to pres your genitalia  on the seat AND if the person just before you was an infected contortionist who did just that.
