  1. Hot and humid.  A good time to be at the beach,  deep-sea fishing or scuba diving.  If you go to the beach, take an umbrella, mask & snorkle and sunblock, and watch for jellyfish.  A couple of good beaches are San Francisco Beach, near Condominios Pilar, and Algodones Beach, by the Hotel San Carlos Plaza.  The snowbirds will be gone, but Mexican families take up the tourism slack when they visit San Carlos throughout the summer, especially on weekends.  During the week in the summertime, it's pretty quiet.  The temperatures will be close to what you experience in Tucson, but the humidity lingers from July through September.

Many years ago, I visited S.C. for the first time in August, and really liked it.  I returned a few months later, when the heat had subsided, and really loved it.  A year later, I moved here.  It's a beautiful place, with a slow pace and laid-back atmosphere.  The people are friendly, and if you make an attempt to speak Spanish, it makes things easier.

You could take a boat ride out to San Pedro Island to see the sea lions.  A visit to the pearl farm in nearby Guaymas would be interesting.  And there is a delfinario nearby, where you can watch the dolphins perform.  There are also sailing lessons, horseback riding, hiking, mountain biking, ATV rentals, jet-ski rentals.  A few local musicians provide evening entertainment at some of the bars.

Sea life includes dolphins, sea lions, a huge variety of fish. If you go diving, you might see moray eels protruding from crevices in the rocks.  The first time I saw one, I thought it looked like an angry old man.

Have a great time, but if the heat and humidity are overwhelming, I would suggest you return for another trip later in the year, maybe in November.

  2. Hot!!  Humid!!  Great fishing and restaurants, specifically Blackies.  People are very friendly.  Condos  Delphin or Pilar have the best accomodations and beaches, but are 10 minutes from town.

  3. Nearly abandoned due to the heat
