What is Schumacher's role in Ferrari at present ??

Question

Also why is he at the Ferrari Pit's Control during a race ?

The reason I ask this because, he gives me the impression from his body language like "Yeah, I know I am not supposed to be here, but I am still here...so what the h**l" .

He looks like he is feeling guilty for being there.

What happened to the Michael Schumacher, who is so excited and so happy when Ferrari are winning ? Instead he seems to be a subdued version of his former-self.

He's trying to look innocent and supportive and not as if he's spending every waking hour trying to figure out how to take Stefano Domeniali's job from under his nose.

He's basically still got a contract with Ferrari (he's being paid quite a bit actually) to act in the capacity of an advisor on F1 sporting matters, occasionally tests their F1 cars, is involved in the development and driver feedback of some of their upcoming road cars.

More than anything else, Ferrari is unwilling to let go of the Ferrari-Schumacher legend, lest he is tempted into getting back into F1 at some later date with some other team, if he gets bored. Ferrari is also leveraging the marketability of the Schumacher-Ferrari association to selling its cars.

To answer your question, he is still well and truly an employee of Ferrari (all but part-time) and he is welcome at Ferrari's pit garage and pit-wall as and when he pleases. They owe him that much...he's given them around 70 Wins, 5 Driver's Championship titles and 6 Constructor's Championship titles.

He's having an advisory role at Ferrari. Ferrari chose to retain him as advisor or risk losing him to other teams. I believe Williams wanted his help. Apart from that, he also tests the cars from time to time

Kimi and Massa these both drivers dont know a **** about car set up!!...and kimi u knw wanna sleep bfor his races...massa...would start cryin(dont take it personally massa)...if asked him abt cars set up and he cldnt do it(he wears his heart on sleeves),,,and now whome to talk abt car -set up and we want our cars to be set up befor the race and qualifying...then der goes a call "hi Schumi....errrr....umm...we need a bit of help..eerrr...advice frm u..."...and schumi comes wearing an red ferrari tee and an blue jeans......Now things are back to normal!!! ;-)!!!
