What is Seeding (Torrent)

i heard lots of people go like please seed!!! and i have no idea what that means. im kinda new to torrent. is seeding something to help other people to make their torrent download faster? do i have to seed? if i dont have to how do i disable it. if you guys could give me a list of directions of how to disable it. ill give you 10 points for best answer!!! thanks in advance!

Seeding, as it pertains to hockey:

There are 8 teams from each conference (Eastern and Western) that make the playoffs.  They are seeded 1 to 8, depending on how the placed in the regular season.

There are 4 rounds of playoffs

The first 3 round play out in each conference:

round 1:

1st seed plays 8th seed

2nd seed plays 7th seed

3rd seed plays 6th seed

4th seed plays 5th seed

After round 1, each team is reseeded from 1st to 4th, based on regular season standings, and based on the remaining teams.  So, if the 8th place team beat the 1st place team, and the 2nd place team beat the 7th place team, and the 3rd place team beat the 6th place team, and the 5th place team beat the 4th place team, they would reseed as:

2nd seed is now 1st seed

3rd seed is now 2nd seed

5th seed is now 3rd seed

8th seed is now 4th seed

round 2:

1st seed plays 4th seed

2nd seed plays 3rd seed

round 3:

remaining teams play each other

round 4 (Stanley Cup Final)

Winners of each Conference play each other.

well. when you are done downloading whatever it is your downloading, you can keep it on there to upload. If you let it upload you are seeding because you are letting other people download it from your computer.

When you do this it is faster for other people to download it like it would be faster for you to download.

and if you dont want to do it, you can right click the file and hit "remove task" and just keep the files.
