What is Series 63?

In simple English words...can someone explain to me what Series 63 is? I don't know much about financial subjects...so itd be nice if you explain this in simple English words...thanks...

  1. It is the state exam for securities brokers.  You need to pass the national series  Series 7 & or series 6 exam if you only want to trade mutual funds


  2. A securities license entitling the holder to solicit orders for any type of security in a particular state. What this means in simple terms, is that it is a license that allows the holder to sell, buy, and solicit the purchase of stock, bonds, etc.. and control the funds of others.
