Do the lower W and S numbers represent earlier models / resolution?' As I don't get the logic behind Sony's numbering, I was wondering if there is available a so called "family tree" that shows the relaionship between the vaious models (like DCRP's tree for the Canon Elph series http://www.dcresource.com/reviews/canon/powershot_sd790-review/ )

((Just as a matter of interest I recently saw some truly excellent shots straight from the camera, taken on a bike ride using am old battered shirtpocket Sony L1..))

Regards

  1. Sony's naming format is a bit "all over the place." A series can denote a common design trait (ex. the slim T-series with a sliding lens cover) or a certain characteristic (ex. zoom of the H-series).
