What is Team USA (men's basketball) teaching the rest of the basketball world?

In terms of technicalities of the game both defensively and offensively, what the milestone does this Team USA accomplish? What standard is the team putting up there?

I look at Team USA and I see their game is at a different level defensively and offensively. I don't have a trained eye, but what is it about this team that makes it rockin? You may also include their mentality if you like.

they are teaching many things like you have to want to win badly enough to reach your goal and that practice every day with commitment will lead to great things... oh and i think kobe should be team capt. for team usa! go lakers =)

I think the reason why Team USA is dominating in basketball is because basketball is most popular in the United State. A few weeks ago, I searched on Google the most popular sports in the world. Cricket even made it to 2nd place (soccer is 1st). Basketball came somewhere a bit farther. Even though most of Team USA are descendants of Africa (no racism intended), they grew up in America. I think if basketball becomes more popular worldwide, Team USA may see tougher competitors.

EDIT: Even though basketball came a bit far from what I saw, there's still no surprise Kobe Bryant was attacked by the media in Beijing. The NBA is just too popular.

athleticism + chaos defense = winning games.

That while the world has done alot of growing in the game of basketball in the last 16 years, they still don't hold a candle to the USA.  

Athleticism is king in this sport, its rare that you find an unathletic hall of fame player.  Even Bird could thrown one down when he wanted too.
