  1. It's a "celebration" of the exploitation and near-genocide of an ethnic group & culture. Exploitation & genocide have since become an American tradition. Yay for Thanksgiving.

  5. It is a celbration in the u.s. idk about anywhere else but it celebrates the coming of the pilgrims to the u.s. and the reason we eat so much then is because the pilgrims ate a feast with the food they grew with the native americans it is mostly just a peace thing with the native americans. and we reward them for teaching us that by taking away all of there land and making them feel bad :) jk it is :(

  6. You were obviously not raised in the US. Or you just completely missed out in school.

  7. in short its a holiday of togetherness  it brings people mostly family close together at least for one day.

  8. It's a secular holiday set aside to give thanks for the blessings we have (to God, to each other, it doesn't matter!)

In the United States, it's the fourth Thursday in November (followed by the "Friday after Thanksgiving," the first official Christmas shopping day.)

In Canada it's the second Monday. Gee, they have to go back to work and school the next day. Awwwwww!

  9. A bountiful Harvest and preparation for Winter.
