    it is extremely good for you so if you like it eat lots


  2. I think it is bean curd and is good for you but you would need to flavour it as it tastes quite bland on its own.

  3. There are some fantastic Tofu varieties out there and its not at all bland if you get the good ones. My favourite is Tofu with mushrooms - comes in a block and you can slice or dice it, fry with garlic and rice is delicious or stir fry with veggies and noodles - whatever.

    Other good varieties are the smoked tofu and the chili tofu. Browse a decent health food store. The 'silken' tofu sold in packs in some supermarkets is really not good. Tastes of nothing and has a texture like baby sick.

    Tofu is made from beancurd and is extremely good for you - high in protein, low in fat and full of plant oestrogens (can't spell that) so very good for women and particularly menopausal women like me.

  4. it is a very good source of protein and is very healthy for you. Well that is some studies showing that only fermented are, but either way it is better than meat. Until more evidence is out for either side, i would suggest eating it along with a very healthy life style.

    I can't remember what tofu is, it comes from soy beans, but not sure how.

  5. Tofu is Soyabean curd- that is, curds made from soyabean milk (similar to cheese being made from cows' milk).

    I personally do not agree that it doesn't taste of anything. Tofu is one of my favourite foods, however, it must be said, that it is an acquired taste.

    Tofu would be a very good for you, seeing as you are a vegetarian, seeing as it is high in protein.

  6. Tofu is made from soya beans and is an excellent source of protein whether you eat meat or not.

    It is sold in supermarkets and health food shops.

    You can buy it plain to cook and flavour yourself.

    My local health food shop sells a fantastic smoked tofu, which is delicious,

    There's a chinese supermarket near me which sells packets of ready to eat spiced tofu, yummmm.


  7. Tofu is bean curd. Yes it's good for you. It is a very good source of protein. But I really don't like the stuff. I prefer to use quinoa. Each to their own I guess.

  8. Tofu is a great substitute for meat. Tofu is when SOYBEANS are crushed and mixed together this makes tofu.

    Tofu is a great substitution for meat and goes well in meals to as an alternative.

    Its a natural source of protein, and is high in calcium, iron, and lots more essential nutrients to.

Traditionally, the curdling agent used to make tofu is nigari, a compound found in natural ocean water, or calcium sulfate, a naturally occurring mineral. Curds also can be produced by acidic foods like lemon juice or vinegar. The curds then are generally pressed into a solid block.
