What is Trenton, NJ like?

My fiance, who lives in NYC, is looking to relocate to Trenton, NJ. I wanted to know what the city is like because I used to live in New Jersey but didn't live in Trenton. How long is the commute into New York and what is the best mode of transportation into NYC.

The city is pretty awful.  There is a lot of crime and poverty....nothing fun to do really.  It's similar to a lot of the old cities in New Jersey....definitely not that nice.

It's a long commute ...driving 1.5hrs (and thats with no traffic).  So it will pretty much take forever during rush hour.  Taking a train might be a better way to commute...but it will still take just as long probably.

If you are going to live in Trenton, you would be better off commuting to Philadelphia b/c it a lot closer.
