  1. CORN.

Corn is, by far, the #1 cash crop in the US.

The USA is the major corn producer in the world (50% of the total world corn) and the major export trader in the world (responsible of the 70% of the corn trade in the world).

  2. i'd say that the current #1 cash crop is corn. it is in a lot of things we dont know about, such as processed foods, sodas, and many other foods you wouldnt even realise. plus, it is fed 2 a lot of meat and dairy animals and so we therefore still eat it.

  3. #1 is pot, wonderful pot.

  4. Guns!

  5. Pot is definitely on the top of the list, and most of it stays within the USA.

"Using conservative price estimates derived from federal surveys, domestic marijuana production has a value of $35.8 billion, more than corn and wheat combined, easily making it America’s largest and most lucrative cash crop.

Based on production estimates derived from marijuana eradication efforts from 2003 to 2005 marijuana is the top cash crop in 12 states, one of the top 3 cash crops in 30 states, and one of the top 5 cash crops in 39 states. The domestic marijuana crop is larger than Cotton in Alabama, larger than Grapes, Vegetables and Hay combined in California, larger than Peanuts in Georgia, larger than Tobacco in both South Carolina and North Carolina, larger than Hay, Tobacco, Corn and Soybeans combined in Kentucky, and larger than the top ten crops combined (Soybeans, Hay, Cotton, Corn, Tobacco, Vegetables, Wheat, Cottonseed, Sorghum and Apples) in Tennessee."

"By most rankings, America's domestic marijuana crop is easily valued in excess of $10 billion annually and usually ranks in the top 10 cash crops."

  6. cash!

  7. Soybeans is the #1 cash crop in the USA.  The publication is about #1 exports which is not the same thing.  The "other" described in the charts means all other products combined which are not mentioned specifically in the charts.

  8. I believe corn is the number one crop in the entire US (but not California).  In looking at the chart I see that vegetables are missing in all the other categories.  I say the "other" is vegetables.

  9. Almost always Soybeans.  They are one of our leading exports.  They are crushed to make soybean oil and soybean meal (for feed).  The largest crop is Corn which is mostly for feed, also goes into High Fructose Corn Syrup for Coke and Pepsi, etc. Ethanol, and exports.  "others" could be smaller grains like oats, millet, milo, sorghum, buckwheat, barley, sunflower seeds, etc.  They are all exported to some degree

  10. The fact is, the #1 crop in the US is marijuana.  The cash value of the weed grown in the US eclipses corn, soybeans, sugar beets, wheat, and rice combined.  Absolutely true.

  11. the usa's number one cash crop is corn. followed by soybeans and hay.

  12. Corn is king. Period. So many uses for it.  I prefer the rest of the world starve and we turn it into ethanol.

  13. Tourism...

  14. SOYBEANS AND CORN

  15. Basically it's corn which is eaten by cows who make milk for people to drink. Also corn is used to make ethanol a green fuel.

  16. Corn, Soybeans, Wheat all make up some of the top picks for cash crops.. However, technically the top cash crop isn't considered a crop at all..  It's a drug.. Yes, Marijuana is the top "cash crop" in America.. But, due to it's status as a bad thing and not being considered edible..  It's not put on the normal lists.. Now the numbers that you'll probably find will tell it's not the top pick but rather number 4 or 5..  But let's face it not everyone who grows is going to stand up for a head count..

  17. Well....It's corn...corn is used as food to us, cows, deer (if you feed the deer to make them fat, for the hunters :-) ), sheep, and several other animals, and now they going to use it in ethanol...They are most definatly making some good money.
