  1. it means you dont have to be there after you start it but unfortunantly there will be a couple spots near the end you have to fill stuff in but for the most part the computer will reboot when needed and continue to install without you needing to be present once you have started the install

  2. When you start installing Windows, after a few minutes it stops and asks some questions about language and time zones. Then it installs for a few more minutes and stops to ask some more questions. Basically, you have to stay near the computer while it is installing.

An unattended install is a way to avoid that. I think the most common method is to burn a new install disk that is already configured, so you can start the install and walk away. When you come back 45 minutes or so later, you're computer will be ready to use.

  3. Unattended Installation is a process of installation where the installer takes care of everything. You just have to start the installation process and the installation is done by default settings as provided by the instalaltion.

  4. Unattended installation is an automated installation technology in Microsoft Windows  that you can use to install or upgrade an operating system with minimal user intervention. Unattended installation is typically used during large-scale rollouts when it would be too slow and costly to have administrators or technicians interactively install the operating system on individual computers.

One of the essential components of an unattended installation is an answer file. An answer file is a simple text file that instructs the Windows Setup program how to install and configure the operating system. To perform an unattended installation, you run Setup with a special command-line parameter that instructs Setup to read the answer file. Then, during the setup process, instead of prompting you for installation and configuration information interactively, Setup follows the instructions contained in the answer file.

  5. It is when you are doing a mass operating system install over a

network and you create a diskette which intervenes and answers

questions such as time zone, company name etc.

it is so you can load OS and walk away Knowing that all the installs will be identical
