Hi there, im a paramedic student studying in Coventry, whilst studying my drugs i see that atropine reverses the effects of vagal overdrive, im aware that the vagus nerve (X) controls many important parasympothetic functions, and could probably guess what vagal overdrive is, but I would like to know for sure. I cant find anything on the internet or in my anatomy and physiology books. Thanks.

  1. Have you tried looking under vasovagal overdrive? Isn't it to do with when vagal activity is decreased and causes bradycardia? Atropine acts to inhibit that...  Hahaha, i'm not a med student that's for sure. I'm a vet tech who would much rather have gone and finished her vet degree and constantly trying to diagnose things! I hate not knowing the whys of medicine!!!
