What is Wal-Mart like?

Question

Well, i live in Australia. There is no Wal-Mart and so many people on Yahoo Answers talk about it. What is it like? Here we only have supermarkets..well there are two, Safeway and Coles they are literally the same thing just different names and different locations. So tell me everything about Wal-Mart and why it's so good. I think im going to America for a holidays, cant wait!

Wal-Mart is great for anyone, but especially people with families.  I'm married, mother of 3 and have a Wal-Mart right up the street from where I work, which is on my way home.  I often stop there to pick up some groceries for dinner, or buy a new outfit.  There really isn't much you can't buy at a Wal-Mart.  They have automotive repair (they'll even do oil changes and tire rotations), lawn and garden items, electronics, beauty supplies ie: shampoo, makeup, vitamins, etc, pet food and accessories (you can even buy fish at some Wal-Mart's.  A long time ago, you could buy small pets like hamsters and gerbils as well), paper goods like plates, paper towels, toilet paper, you can buy CDs or video games there (part of their electronics department), clothes in any size (they sell BIG people clothes as well, where as most other stores do not).  At Super Wal-Mart's, they have a full grocery store as well with a deli and bakery.  They also have places you can get your hair and nails done and order a sandwich from Subway.  There are also some other features in selected Wal-Mart's such as an optical department and a picture studio.

do NOT and i mean DO NOT goto walmart. their stuff is cheap. but only like a couple of dollars from the other stores. in america there's so much more stores to buy from. if you like shopping goto a big mall like mall of america or somthing. walmart is for poor people. you know they get all their stuff from like sweatshops? which i really do not support. my friend bought his ipod for like 5 dollars less than me cuz i bought mine at the apple store and he bought his at the walmart.

Cole doesn't know what he is talking about. Some Walmarts are Super Centers, meaning they carry everything a grocery store carries, and its 10 times cheaper at walmart for some items, Walmart has name brand products cheaper than anywhere else,  Like all stores, some things are great to buy from walmart, and some things aren't.

Wal-mart has everything you could possibly be looking for. They have cd's, movies, clothes, food, some art supplies, fabrics, toys, bikes, some pet supplies, neclaces & bracelets ect. They have about anything you could be looking for... the only problem is the lines are sooooo long you'll end up standing in line for like 20 min. at least... :) haha it is fun though running around wal-mart as long as your not buying something.... haha or at least not in a hurry to get out!

Oh yeah and also wal-mart is kinda like a plague once it opens up in a small town everything else kinda goes outta business... which kinda stinks.. So there arent many stores around it unless they're big companies just like wal-mart.
