The actual short story is about a world that's very overpopulated.

So overpopulated, in fact, that the government helps people commit suicide, and tries to ethically prevent more births: by taking the pleasure out of s*x with pills.

There are 'nothingheads', who refuse to take these pills, and a notorious one is trying to convince all the Hostesses (operators of Suicide Parlors) to refuse too.

It's really very interesting, Kurt Vonnegut's a genius.
