Wicca is one of the Pagan religions. Wicca is NOT Witchcraft, a Witch can be of any religion.

Wiccans usually connect to the god and goddess and tend to be Polytheists. They often have a great reverence for nature. Sadly, Wicca gets bashed a lot, and for no good reason.

Wicca is the origonal name for witchcraft, or for the old religeons, which has been mis-represented by christianity.

Basically, a wiccan believes in a male and female deity, both of which are essential. The origonal witches were like the village nurse, with a knowledge of the curative powers of herbs and plants. They believed that all plants werea gift of the gods, and so not as private property. Feualism did not mix with such beliefs so witches became victimised.

A pseudo-religion created by Gerald Gardner in the 1950's based upon what he believed to be the remaining practices of traditional witchcraft.  It was originally an lineage based, oathed tradition.  It has now become extremely commercialized thanks to the likes of Llewellyn publishing company and the dime a dozen Wiccan/witch authors who regurgitate the information shared by other authors.

Wicca is a modern religion created by Gerald Gardner.  It is based off a simplification of several magical and pagan religious practices, including Egyptian mysticism and ceremonial magic.  It has since spread and evolved and much to the chagrin of reconstructionalists everywhere, attempts to incorporate the practices and deities of other cultures, "all you can eat buffet" style.
