  1. grandma sitting at the old player piano playing "The Old Rugged Cross".

  2. All the love she gave us is what is in my heart,

My grandmother was a cook and all my friends use to love her to no end they would come to my house after school and she would have us cookies and milk and all the latchkey kids loved it at my house and then she would put us all to do our home work. When the parents would get home they would leave.

My grandma was baby sitting them and I was aware later that she didn't' want them to be home alone. She was one special grandmother.

  3. My paternal grandpa was very sick for a very long time. He was an extreme diabetic. I remember watching the news at night, sitting in his lap, and laughing cause he would rub his whiskers on my cheek. I was the youngest grandchild so i always got to be first to sit in his lap or next to him at dinner, and when he got older sitting at his feet.

My maternal grandma had a wonderful smile, she loved to laugh, my fondest memory was when she took all of the grand kids to see "smokey and the bandit". She laughed and giggled through the whole movie. it was a blast.

    I truly miss them both.

  4. I'm 42 and my grandpa was born in 1889, so he lived through an interesting time period.  He told me about playing with indian children and speaking their language.  He also taught me how to make whistles out of an alder tree branch.

  5. fishing stories at my grandfather's knee.  only knew one. other died before I was born.

he had a small dog while I was growing up and he and my aunt would let him know I was coming and open their 3rd floor door and that dog would make sure I came right to their home.

a cute trick of the dog's was being able to find his blanket [an old sweater] wherever anyone put it, and watching when someone told him it was time for bed. he'd bring out his 'blanket' and roll up in it.

  7. my grandpa loved wrestling ..so he would make me and my little bro watch Hulk Hogan and Randy the Macho Man Savage battle it out in the ring. Afterwards he would make home made ice cream , only so that we would  not tell grandma he was watching wrestling ...

    I miss him

  8. Spending the week with my Grandparents when I was 4-year-olds and getting to set the table for the first time and pick out the clothes and food I wanted while at their house.

  9. My fondest memory with my grandfather was him taking me to watch "Dennis the menace" in the theater. It stands out because I knew he hadn't gone to the movie theater in years....and that would probably be the last time he did. What about you? lets hear yours! Thanks

  10. My grandpas car..he was a small man.. and drove this huge car ( at 5 years old everything is huge) I think it was a cadillac and it had suicide doors on it.. with fancy lights on the inside.. When he would come to visit us he would drive his car from Ohio to Illinois and everyone loved to look at his car, inside and out because no one else in my town owned one or had seen one before.. also my grandmother.. she had a flying squirrel.. he was so soft and loved to play, the first time I saw him fly I thought my grandmother was teasing me with some sort of toy..lol She picked him up and showed him to me that he was %100 real..lol
