What is a 'Lake Effect Kid'?

Fall Out Boy just put out a demos of 5 songs from their album coming out soon and one of the songs is called 'Lake Effect Kid', anyway one know what it means?

"Lake Effect" is tipically precipitation (snow) that is produced by a lake and then moves inland. I live in upstate NY and the majority of our terrible snow storms is because of this lake effect snow. I believe because Chicago is on a lake, their terrible winters is due to lake effect. The song refers to the band going back to Chicago, and maybe they reference themselves as "Lake effect kids?" Thats a lot for a very unsure anwser. I hope that helps.

What I think It means is that even with everything going on in his life  

He always knows where he came from and where he goes back to when things get too crazy (Boomergang my head back, to the city I grew up in)  Even though he can't be there physically he sends his mind home sometimes.  

Pete Wentz is from Wilmette Illinois, right off of lake Michigan ergo "lake effect kid"
