What is a 'trendy name'?

Everyone says Jailynn Marley is a trendy name..

So what do you define as a 'trendy name'?

I think they are calling it trendy because of the spelling.  Using "y"s and "nn"s is very popular right now and lots of people are doing it to try to make popular names look more original.  It is fine though.  Do whatever you like:)

to me a trendy name are those names that celebrities give their kids like...

Apple

Suri

Honor

Stella

Lola

To me those are all quite trendy, also a lot of trendy names right now are Ella, Abby, Emma, all those short cutsey names, I think the name Jailynn Marley is totally unique and not trendy, but original..but even if someone thought it was trendy who cares, it's your choice right!  Maybe they just meant it didnt sound "traditional" but like I said who cares!

Well, trendy names tend to just be popular names most often... But the addition of unnecessary Y's in a name will automatically put it into the "trendy" category.

Marley isn't bad - it's cute. But Jailynn looks terrible, in my opinion. In the first place, the first half of it is the word "jail."  The whole thing sounds like "jailin' " - as in jailing? Not the best word to associate with your baby. The name also sounds made-up, like someone was just pulling sounds out of thin air.

A trendy name is one that may sound cute at the moment, but what about 10 years from now? It's like people naming their daughter Jamie Lynn or Beyoncee...

Jailynn Marley just sounds long and... different... Not traditional. A lot of people are naming their children Caiden, Cayden, Jayden, Aiden, and I've heard of a few people naming their daughters Jailynn. It's like when Bible names were huge a few years ago. Everyone was naming their kids Noah, Jonah, Micah, etc. WHY?! lol You may think it's a cute baby name now, but what about when little Jailynn grows up and gets a job? That's all they mean.

I kid you not, a woman on YA a few weeks ago wanted to name her child, "shawnmiricle" (and didn't even spell miracle right) and then went on to say that "shawn" is her boyfriend, but she's not sure he's the father.... I was like wow... what's the point?

Okay it just happens to be my favorite name is Trenley Which reminds me of trendy! I do like Jailynn Marley ver cute and trendy! When i hear Trendy i think of unigue, uncommon and modern names! I love Trendy names i will list some for you!

jayden,jaylee,jace,jase,jessalynn,jazz...

mykayla,meckenzie,avaigh,jayne,.there are so many really,so they are not unique just misspelled,made up and common!!!

Trendy names are the names that everyone is using - "very popular".  All those names that end with the sound "aylen" or "ayden" are pretty trendy right now.  You hear that sound everywhere.  But names are trendy for a reason.  People like the sound of them, so a lot of people use them.  For what it's worth, I think Jailynn Marley is a pretty name.  If it were me, though, I'd probably spell it Jaelyn (for a girl) or Jaylen (for a boy).
