Why does the 08 Kawasaki 650R have 649cc?

and

The 08 Kawasaki ZX-6R have 599cc?

What is the difference between this two? I know one is a super sport bike and the other one isnt. What is the difference on cc's?

  1. CC's stands for cubic centimeters which is a unit for displacement. The higher the the cc number is the faster the bike is. So the 650R with 649cc would be faster than the 6R

  2. Ya mango is 100% wrong

The ZX6R is a competitive bike, so it's under 600cc aka 599cc for competition. It's an inline, which is way faster than a parrallel twin.

The 650R isn't going to be entered in a race, so they went 649cc.

  3. i'd say the difference in cc's is 50, but you may want to use a calculator and check the math yourself

  4. ZX6R is a race bike. They have to make it 599cc so it can make into that certain race class. It's like when boxers have to be under a certain weight to box in any weight class.

ZX6 is a sport bike, and the 650R is a sport tourer. The engines are geared differently to reflect a more race type performance on the ZX6 and toned down performance on the 650R.

More CCs does not equal more speed.

  5. You can do the math and find the displacement difference.  But the zx6 is a sport bike with a motor more designed that way that may have a funny powerband to it.  The 650 is more streetable without all the strange powerband that a sport bike has.  It is normal for these companies to make thier bike a few cc smaller than what is said for reasons like insurance and emmisions to make sure they fit into certian classes of bikes.

  6. It is a measure of displacement.  It means cubic centimeters.

The difference in these bikes is night and day, and though the 650R has more displacement the ZX-6R, the latter is a race bike, not a commuter.  Do some more research online.

It will also do exactly what the rider tells it to do, even if the rider tells it to do something wrong.

  7. CC means cubic centimeter and it is volume of piston displacement between TDC and BDC. Normally higher displacement means higher power. But a better designed engine may give more power than a slightly say 10-15 % higher displacement engine.
