I have a friend who wants to visit me from Nigeria, she has a South African passport and has contacted me to ask for a basic travellers allowance. She claims she has visited the airport in Lagos who have told her she will not be allowed to leave the country unless she has this money in her possession. Is this correct or am I being scammed?

  1. There is no such thing as a BTA in Nigeria.

  2. There are a lot of websites that indicate that BTA is a scam. If you are just using the word "friend" to indicate someone you have never met, then I think you are being scammed.
