  1. card catalogs are used when you are searching for the direct options about a book. its kinds are: subject card, author card, and title card.

subject card is use when you are searching for the title of the book.

author card if you know the book but you don't know the author. this is a good, direct reference.

title card is use when you are searching of a book whom you really needed for your task.

though they all contains the same features but the arrangements were very different that of each kind. but we can't leave the fact that they all serve as references.

  2. A card file which may be arranged in author, title, and subject sections. Materials owned by the library are listed alphabetically. Colorado State University has one card catalog left, a SHELFLIST for GOVERNMENT DOCUMENTS.

  3. It is a catalog of the books in a library.

  4. good question..coz we learned this...LOLS..well here it is

card catalog-an alphabetical listing of items such as names and addresses or books in a library, with each item on a separate card

    three kinds

    title card

    subject card

    author card

in the title card...the first item you'll gonna see is the name of the author but the last name is first followed by it's complete name

in the subject card...the first item you will see is the subject..like PLANTS..TOYS..etc..u will easily identify the subject card if the first item u will see is not the author nor the title

in the title card.of course the first item u will see is the title..no doubts about that and it is the easiest among them all

the card catalog also includes the call number, publisher, date published, and so much more
