  1. It's a halter class but "colored" horses are allowed in. By colored I mean paints and pintos

  2. Any breed that has rules for perfect coloration can enter a color class such as the Buckskin. And this can be a dun, grulla or any acceptable coat color. It's to be judged against the standard for that color. I had a registered Quarter Horse who was dun and she showed in color class and won it many times as she had almost perfect dun markings. In the same class, you may also see palomino as well as the breeds and colors you mentioned, all at one time. The horse that best typifies the coat coloration it represents should win.

  3. Basically anything that isn't solid can show.

They base it on the horses conformation and color pattern.

  4. A "Color Class" is normally held in Open shows (Non breed shows) and typically allows horses who aren't bay, sorrel, chestnut, brown, gray and black to show at halter.

Pintos, paints, appaloosas, POA's, albinos, buckskins, duns and palominos are all open to these classes.  The more striking your horse's color and with good conformation, the more chance you stand to place high in the class if not win it.

Besides halter, they sometimes hold riding color classes, depending upon the show.

  5. ibbibud gets it right!

  6. Horses "of color" show in these classes; paint, pinto, palomino, (yes), appys, etc

  7. It is like a normal Halter class, where they judge on the horse's apperance and condition, but they also judge the markings and "color."   A lot of paints and pintos go, but also appaloosas, palaminos, and Buckskins.  If your horse has bold patterns, try it!

    GOOD LUCK!
