  1. i like the chopsuey part! :)

maybe you should try halo-halo and not chopsuey... err.. you may have to look it up on the net.. and you will know what i mean :)

  2. There are no blacks/latinos/malays.

A Filipino is someone who lives in the Philippines.

The Philippines was under spanish collonial rule for 333 years so that's probably why some look Spanish. And during way back, many chinese went to the philippines to migrate. They traded, worked, and did business in the Philippines. Many chinese were also seeking refuge in the Philippines then.

  3. well it could be that Filipinos could have descendants from many ethnic combination...in history of the Philippines, Spaniards invaded the Philippines and they are certain gallion trade b4 that  involved some Chinese,Malays etc....

    ...proud to be a Filipino...

  4. Yes, but they are all Fillipinos or Filipinas.  If you are born in he Phillippines, you are a Filipino.  Just like if you are born in the USA (no mater what your race or ethnicity) you are American.

  5. A Filipino are citizens or decedents from the country the Philippines. The reason for the Spanish mix is because the Philippines was colonized by the Spanish for 333 years and this is why there is a big influence of Spanish culture in the Filipino culture. As far as other nationality mixes, this can be due to the Philippines for a time being--being a port Island and what I mean by that is for example US military ships would be stationed in the Philippines and thus more cultures being introduced to the Philippines.

It doesn't matter if your full-blooded Filipino, Filipino-American, Filipino-Chinese, or whatever... a Filipino is a Filipino because they are either a citizen of the Philippines or their decendents are from the Philippines.

If you really want to understand you can try any history book or Wikipedia if you want a fast read.

  6. you've asked this question many times i think you already know what it is.

  7. A Filipino is someone who is a Filipino citizen. Some Filipinos are also citizens of other countries. This is made possible by our recently enacted dual citizenship law.

Filipinos do not look too Asian, perhaps because of all te "foreign" influences from more than 300 years of Spanish colonialization, almost 50 years of US rule, plus thousands of years of trading with China, being part of the Shri-Visayan Empire, settled by the Malays and the Indonesians.

If there is a cultural Melting Pot in Asia. the Philippines is it.

  8. Pinoy = Filipino = the Phillipines = Asian
