I need a French food besides a croissant that is sold at Publix or a local grocery store.

At least at a lot of the Publix locations here in Florida, they sell Lu biscuits - I really like the different varieties of "Le Petit Ecolier" (translation:  The Little Schoolboy), they're basically chocolates with the insignia of a schoolboy.  You might also want to check for pre-prepared quiche, though not some cheap American rip-off of it.
