  1. HTML is "Hypertext Markup Language".  It is the "code" that makes a web page look like it does.

For an example of HTML, go to any web site and then click on "View" and then choose "Source".  That is the HTML for the web site that you are viewing.

  2. Hyper Text Markup Language is the language that web pages are written in.

  3. Hi matts mom,

HTML, an initialism of "HyperText Markup Language", is the predominant markup language for web pages. It provides a means to describe the structure of text-based information in a document — by denoting certain text as links, headings, paragraphs, lists, and so on — and to supplement that text with interactive forms, embedded images, and other objects. HTML is written in the form of tags, surrounded by angle brackets.

  4. Simply put, you can use HTML to change the way your blog looks--it's like adding extra "bells and whistles" to your blog.

For instance, you can go to YouTube, copy the HTML code at the side of the video you want to put in your blog, then paste it into your blog area after you click the "Show HTML" box.

When you save your blog, your video should come up. (Please Note: For some reason I have to type something in the blog area before the YouTube video showed up on my page. Some people have been able to copy and paste without writing anything. It hasn't worked for me.)

You can also add all the pictures you want into your blog if you have a "web hosting service" and upload your pictures to it, then copy and paste your HTML image source code into your blog. For more info on how to do this see:  http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...

These are just two of the *many* things you can do with HTML in your blog.
