What is a JINSKI?!?!?

i need to do vocabulary for world history AP and this word came up but i have no idea where to find it. can someone tell me what it it?

if it helps, this word is in the section about china's reunification and renaissance.

OK, here what I discovered. Jinski seems to be the same as jinshi.

The Jinshi were the ones who ranked first in the "civil service"  or "imperial" examinations. This examination, in theory, allowed any male regardless of birth, a chance to become a government official.
